The Etomidate Test Kit is an easy-to-use drug testing solution designed to detect etomidate, a fast-acting anaesthetic drug, in human urine samples. Etomidate has been increasingly misused and found in counterfeit substances like KPods, vapes, and street drugs. This urine-based test offers a convenient and non-invasive way to screen individuals for recent use.

Standard cutoffs are: 50ng/ml, 100ng/ml, 250ng/ml, 500ng/ml, 1,000ng/ml. Other cutoffs may be available.

Etomidate has the chemical formula C14H16N2O2. It is a short-acting, non-barbiturate intravenous injection with good sedative but not analgesic properties. Anaesthesia occurs in the 20s after intravenous injection and lasts about 5 minutes. The duration of action can be prolonged by increasing the dose. The effect on the respiratory and circulatory systems is mild, there is a brief respiratory depression, systolic blood pressure is slightly decreased, heart rate is slightly increased, no histamine release effect. Etomidate is a white crystalline powder. It acts mainly on the sensory centre of the upper spinal cord and cerebral cortex, inhibiting the transmission of sensory stimuli to the brain. Etomidate is rapidly metabolised to etomidate acid in the liver. Etomidate acid is the major metabolite in urine.
